ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Operates machine(s) in assigned area under limited supervision.

* Follows all standard operating procedures and data required for maintaining the quality of the parts and processes; is capable of reviewing and updating procedures.

* Suggests innovative solutions to improve quality, decrease cycle time and reduce costs.

* Capable of running numerous operations in the department, making machine adjustments and performing basic operations as required.

* Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

* Demonstrates the ability to continually learn and advance skills to gain an understanding of other tasks within the department.

* Considers the impact on quality, processes and production when performing operations.

* Makes every effort to increase understanding of tasks, total process flow and quality within the department.

* May work on assignments that are routine and semi-routine in nature.

* Is proficient in using M2M and recognizes errors and takes steps to correct them.

* Ensures a continuous flow of product through the Department and moves product from one area to another, when required.

* Assists Engineers (as directed by Area Coordinator or Supervisor) with samples or equipment tests.

* Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge, trains other employees if appropriate.

* Refers questions and problems to higher levels.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Regular in attendance and punctual in reporting for work.

* Able and willing to work any shift of a three-shift schedule, overtime, and/or weekends, as required.

* Maintains a clean and orderly work area and assists co-workers in maintaining a clean and orderly department.

* Operates an internal, computer-based documentation system.

* Assists other employees, regardless of job classification, and performs any and all duties assigned by an Area Coordinator, Supervisor or Manager.

* Reports to the Supervisor, Manager, Area Coordinator, and/or Safety Director any safety violations that do or do not pose an immediate danger and takes the necessary steps to correct the problem violation when appropriate.

* Complies with all safety rules and regulations; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to Area Coordinator or Supervisor.

* Willingness to work in other departments as assigned.

* Complies with company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SKILL RECOMMENDATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

· High School graduate or GED.

· Minimum of six months manufacturing experience.

· Basic language and math skills.

· Basic computer skills.

· Recommended vision corrected to 20/20 (contact lens not allowed in plant).

· Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

· Ability to accurately interpret and record data.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Positive attitude, with good interpersonal communication skills.

· Must meet all training requirements as defined by department.

· Willingness and ability to train others as required.

· Ability to use a microscope for extended periods of time.
